When it comes to your outdoor environment, you need to be able to feel relaxed. If your back or front yard does not consist of at least one meditation or serene spot, you could be missing out on having valuable peace of mind outside. Think of it like this, your home is your sanctuary.
It is just as important to have a relaxing space on the outside of your home as it is on the inside. Especially now that Spring is here and Summer is not too far off.
Your quality of life outside your home can be greatly enhanced by special spots within your landscape that you can go to for relaxation, meditation or just a moment to yourself to enjoy nature.
Do you have a serene spot in your landscape where you can listen to the sound of trickling water, feel the gentle breeze or watch the sunset and sunrise? Contact a designer at Lifescape if you are interested in finding out how you can have the perfect spot in your Denver or Boulder area landscape.
If there is one thing many more people are becoming concerned about it is the health of our environment. Which is one of the main reasons why Earth Hour was created. Earth Hour is an epic event where hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments around the world unite each year to switch off their lights in order to send a powerful message for action on climate change.
For Earth Hour 2011, “more than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries worldwide switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2011 alone”. Quite a few people who have participated in Earth Hour have gone above and beyond the Hour and committed themselves to lasting action for the planet.
Earth Hour 2012 will be taking place on March 31st at 8:30 p.m. local time. According to experts- If we as the human race don’t take action on climate change, the devastating effects could include drought and wildfires, extensive species extinction, mass human, animal and plant migrations and resource wars over shrinking amounts of potable water. What are some ways you’ve started to live a sustainable life?
Today is the first day of spring! We’ve been getting used to some pretty spring like weather thus far and it’s exciting to finally be in the season of colorful blooms, fragrant outdoor aromas and gorgeous landscaping! Are you wondering what you can do to get your yard ready for spring? Take a look at 4 things you can start doing today:
1. Cut back last season’s growth on ornamental grasses. You want to get rid of the old before the new comes in, because separating the two is quite a difficult task.
2. Rake the lawn to remove all debris and dead grass that collected during winter. This is also good prep for the first mowing.
3. If you planted perennials for winter interest, now is the time to cut them back and clean them up.
4. Time to plant early season veggies. If the ground is workable here are some that would be great to plant: carrots, peas, lettuce, spinach, radishes.
What are you looking forward to seeing in your yard this spring?

The front yard is where all the magic is sparked. Your home’s curb appeal will either want to make people stop and admire from the street if done right, or cringe a little and turn their heads if unkempt. If you plan on putting your home on the market anytime soon, this can cost you prospective buyers. However, if you are staying in place, wouldn’t you want to make your home more visually appealing for you, your family, guests and neighbors to enjoy?
You may think that your front yard looks fine, and that you don’t care for all the “extras”. But it is amazing to see the transformation in not only the aesthetics of your home’s outdoor environment, but how you feel about your home as well.
Take a look at these before and after photos of Lifescape Associates completed landscaping projects that focused on curb appeal.
